So, at a non disclosed company located at a non disclosed location.. I have a job in IT doing normal IT things. You know, Blogging, Twittering, Facebooking and the occasional follow up on projects and computer what nots.
There’s an issue, it needs to be resolved. It was requested to be resolved by the.. wait for it.. CIO. I, like the good not as important as the CIO employee that I am, run away quickly to request that this is taken care of ASAP. We do NOT want to upset the CIO as i’m pretty sure he approves our raises and has a say in whether or not we’re approved for Summer Hours this year.
I speak to the cohorts who handle everything regarding this software and make them aware of the request. One brave soul steps up and volunteers to take care of this issue and make it go away.
We e-mail, who? Not the CIO of course, he’s important and wouldn’t get the e-mail in time. We e-mail his Executive Assistant (doesn’t that title just SCREAM important?) and request her assistance in the timely handling of the details of this matter so we (the cohorts and I) can proceed with the execution of this request.
Several e-mails later (of course) no response. Hmmm… *shrug shoulders* I guess it wasn’t so important after all.
Wandering in to work today, I happen upon a very urgent message taped to my computer to go along with a very urgent e-mail (indicated by checking the red exclamation in Outlook) in regards to the very urgent request from earlier and above. OMG!
I did my part, the cohorts did theirs.. the Ms. Important Executive Assistant.. well, let’s just say she did NOTHING and I mean NOTHING.
I have since sent out a very urgent E-mail of my own with fowards of all previous emails attached. All email trails of course end after the part where we’re waiting for an Executive’s Assistant’s Response.
This person was going to do no work and let US take the fall for it. WTF? Oh Corporate America.. how I loathe thee.
